AFTER HOURS EMERGENCIES
CALL 250-339-2026
We share an emergency on-call schedule with other clinics in the Valley. What this means to you is - if you call us in an emergency, you may have to go to another clinic. If this should happen, the clinic you are referred to will notify us of your pet's emergency as soon as possible (during regular business hours). Then, if your pet is stable enough to be transferred, we will re-assume the care of your pet if continued care is necessary. We have the utmost confidence in the clinics participating in this emergency rotation and truly believe that your pet will receive excellent care at any one of these clinics.
If you call our number, you will get a paging service who will then contact whichever clinic is on-call. As you will not know what clinic it is, it is IMPERATIVE that you DO NOT drive to our clinic until speaking to the veterinarian on-call. Please, after placing an emergency call, STAY OFF YOUR PHONE so that the on-call vet can reach you!
We apologize for not being available to you at all times, but we feel that sharing on-call duty is very important to the long-term survival of our professional (and personal) lives. Unfortunately, burn-out is VERY high in our profession and this is one of the best ways of protecting against it.
